The Royal Bahamas Defence Force (RBDF), working in conjunction with the U.S. Coast Guard, captured 11 Cuban nationals in waters off Anguilla Cay around 4 a.m. today.

The RBDF said the suspected migrants were screened for COVID-19 once captured, and then again examined by a team from the Ministry of Health upon their arrival at the RBDF Coral Harbour base today.

The migrants have been handed over to the Department of Immigration but are expected to be quarantined before being detained in the Detention Center.
