Cat Cay resident tests positive for COVID-19

A 36-year-old woman from Cat Cay tested positive for COVID-19, the Ministry of Health confirmed on Sunday.

The woman has no history of travel and is in isolation at home.

There have been 47 cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas – 38 on New Providence, seven on Grand Bahama, one of Bimini and one on Cat Cay.

Cat Cay is near Bimini.

The Ministry of Health said 493 people remain in isolation.

Health Minister Dr. Duane Sands said 18 patients are hospitalized on New Providence and one on Grand Bahama.

Five people have recovered from the virus and eight have died.
