Two people who tested positive for COVID-19 have died, Minister of Health Dr. Duane Sands announced on Thursday.
The victims are a 53-year-old man and a 51-year-old-man.
This brings the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 11 and comes as two more people – a 50-year-old woman from New Providence and a 29-year-old woman from New Providence – tested positive for the novel coronavirus.
There have been 72 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in The Bahamas.
The minister said 14 people have recovered.
More than 200 healthcare workers are in quarantine. However, Dr. Sands said he expects that number to decrease in the coming days.
